Dele Alli insists he will ignore public criticism and never let it affect him.
Alli answered recent jibes with a brilliant display as Spurs fought back from two goals down to get a precious 2-2 draw at Juventus.
Tottenham midfielder Alli was in the spotlight after being booked for diving at Liverpool ten days ago but says he will continue to ignore the backlash.
Alli said: “I think people always react to things. I’m not focussed on that, I’m focussing on the football. I’m focussing on every game, I don’t get brought into whatever people are saying I just keep playing.
“I just want to keep improving as a player and keep going. I try not to let anything bother me. I just keep going and focussing on the team and playing well.”
Alli admits that when Spurs were 2-0 down after eight minutes, even the players were wondering what was going on.
But the England star insists the fight back was a tribute to Tottenham’s dressing room spirit and the team’s resilience.
Alli added: “They started really well and we didn’t start nowhere near as good as we should’ve.
“As soon as we grabbed hold of the game, we dominated from after the first 10 minutes, we dominated the game and disappointed not to win.
“But if you ask us after 10 minutes and we’re 2-0 down at this place, we’ll take the 2-2.
“You’re wondering what’s going on, trying to get the boys going again, get yourself going and pick yourself up, because we’ve got a lot of confidence in our team but when you start that poorly you make it difficult for yourself. Overall it was a good night and a great result for us.
“We’ve got a great dressing room, the boys believe in themselves and each other and in the team. The way we play we have a lot of belief in the system. We were going into the game in a lot of confidence.
“We knew about their record going into the game, that they hadn’t conceded many goals, so going 2-0 down early sometimes you can hide for the rest of the game and sit back.
“But we took the game to them, we dominated after the first 10 minutes and I think it shows a lot of character to come to this place and score two goals.”
